why we started nicesite.
hi. we’re Aaron and Matt. Matt built some of the very first versions of venmo, and Aaron has made hundreds of websites over the past ten years, including one for Britney Spears. between us we’ve helped a lot of friends make websites — a potter, a tutor, a cousin who sells honey at the farmers market. every time, the same thing happened: the tools were built for designers, and our friends just wanted to exist on the internet.
we think everyone should have a personal website. not a profile on someone else’s app, a place that’s yours — with your name on the door, that you can send to anyone, that doesn’t change when an algorithm does.
so we built the thing we kept wishing existed: you chat, it builds, and two minutes later you have a real site. no code, no blank page, no card. that’s nicesite.

can i use a domain i already own?
yes, on any plan, including free. confirm your email and we’ll walk you through connecting it in a couple of clicks.
what happens to my site if i stop paying?
it stays live. you go back to the free plan: your home page stays up, extra pages are kept safely (just not published), and everything comes back if you upgrade again.
